You wouldn't swap him for McInnes would you, so why should he stay at the helm of the National side? Discuss...............

After leading Scotland to the 2012 Euro finals McIness would be dragged screaming and kicking down to the EPL. Rolling Eyes The Scotland job is now for someone who has no desire to return to club football so I think it is best that Del delivers Euro football and a cup to McDiarmid first before he heads south.

One of my reasons for Burley staying is that there is no suitable candidate to replace him unless Walter decides he has had enough of the bigot brothers. Very Happy

What complete and utter utter nonsense on the Saints forum page!
No other obvious manager?

I know one,
he's unemployed,
CV including
Taking Southampton to an FA cup final for the first time in Thirty odd years and subsequently into europe.
THREE back to back Scottish Premier league championships,
a couple of diddy scottish cups ,
TWO qualifications from the Champions league group stages featuring wins against Manchester United (on aggregate if that had counted) and AC MIlan featuring KaKa and Gattusso.
With a team he rebuilt from nothing.
As a player he was a fantastic patriot, scoring in two world cups and coming out of international retirtement to help Craig Browns young Scotland mid field.
Designer of the long short outfits now in use by all the national teams
Widely regarded as televisions most noteable and learned summariser.

But of course you dont like the way he treats the Scottish Press so lets discount him?!

Tsk Tsk Tsk Mailer, Scotland would be in the world cup now if he had been the manager.

It'll be walter and that fantastic brand of anti football of course zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! He didnt qualify for anything either! Nice guy though!
