Scotland to play Faroe Islands
Monday, 25 October 2010
The Scottish FA can confirm the Scotland national team will play an International Challenge Match against the Faroe Islands at Pittodrie Stadium, Aberdeen, on Tuesday, November 16. The kick-off time has yet to be confirmed.
Craig Levein, national coach: “I am delighted that we have managed to arrange this friendly against the Faroe Islands, which will give me another opportunity to work with the group soon after that memorable night against Spain at Hampden Park.
“It was my original intention to arrange a B international but after initial enquiries by our football administration department, it became apparent that it would not be possible to arrange such a game.
“Anyone who watched the Faroes draw 1-1 against Northern Ireland in their recent Euro 2012 Qualification group match will know they have developed as a well-organised unit and this match will be a good experience for our squad.
“We also look forward to playing at Pittodrie. We appreciate that a lot of our supporters come from the north-east of the country and travel a long distance to follow the team and I hope that by coming to them, we can attract another large turnout in Aberdeen.” |
