Andye and myself travelled through to Paisley to watch the last game of the season. Unfortunately the standard of entertainment on show summed up our season. Rolling Eyes

However, big Dubes emotional farewell at the end of the match was worth the £9 entrance fee. ok Long after all the players had left the field big dubes was still there posing for photographs, signing autographs and shaking hands with the loyal 401 Saintees that had made the trip.

Big Dubes, St.Johnstone's No.1 Cult Hero. ur the man

Shocked I met an associate in tesco today (there are other supermarkets)
he is a big saints fan and he was relaying that same story.
what a shame that the perth saint johnstone watchers didn't show the same enthusiam as the Doobs all season? Confused

Shocked That will be a huge big black hole in the Saints defence Rolling Eyes next year but as I pointed out to JT previously, Swindon have been relegated and have in their defence Cuthbert a steady centre half and Caddis at right back, an under 21 captain.
Along with the peculiar release of the rangers reserves, munro and tokely at inversheeppumpers Saints should surely be sniffing around these players.
Hibs have bumped Rankin and McBride who could also prop up saints squad?
Mcgowan remains on lone at St Burnistounmirren and there is no way they can afford wages or a signing on fee.
Maybe time for Geoff to recognise the commitment of his manager with some proper squadro investment and less chasing around his useless big donkey.

Shocked By the way, is it just me, or does Geoff Broons horses bum look just like ingin? Wink

Spot on Vimster ok Re horses bum and Ingin Laughing

Some good ideas regards potential signing targets but we'll have to wait to see if Geoff will allow our highly regarded young manager some money to spend during the close season.

Unfortunately the standard of the SPL has slumped so dramatically in recent seasons the likes of Cuthbert and Caddis would view returning to St.Johnstone a backwards step both financially and in a football sense. We should be able to attract some of the other SPL cast offs but you have to question why they have been released by their clubs in the first instance. I'm not optimistic for Saints or Scottish football in the next couple of seasons.

I think we have so much to do to address the shortfalls in our game but all our SPL chairman are concerned about is securing another tv deal to keep us afloat for another three seasons. A ten team SPL will only delay part-time football for all but 5/6 Scottish clubs for three seasons.
